Ian Edward Krebs
Ian was the beloved youngest child of Julie (Furtado) Krebs and David Krebs, and the precious brother of Emily and Monica Krebs, all of Saunderstown, and the precious grandson of Evelyn (Gillis) Furtado of Jamestown. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, all of whom he loved dearly.
He was a bright and exceptional young man with an unconditionally kind and giving heart. He was also a gifted musician and writer, and was well known for his friendliness and easy sense of humor. Ian graduated from the Metropolitan Regional Career and Technical Center’s East Bay campus in June, after spending his junior year at the MET’s Providence campus. In the two years he spent studying at both campuses, he made many friends whom he considered his family and received unconditional love and support from them. Ian was enrolled in classes at CCRI with the intention of going on to attain a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He enjoyed meeting new people and learning about different cultures. He had hoped to travel to Europe, especially Germany.
A memorial celebration of Ian’s life will be held at Watson Farm on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 11 a.m. It is open to Ian’s friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Metropolitan Regional Career and Technical Center’s Dollars for Scholars fund in honor of Ian, in hopes that his creative legacy might live on through the work of other students.
