Todd Jay Whitford
Todd Jay Whitford, 44, of Frederick, Md., passed away Sept. 25, 2012, in Baltimore. Born in Albuquerque, N.M., Todd was the beloved son of Jan and Barbara Whitford of Jamestown. Besides his parents, he’s survived by his daughter, Alexis Whitford of Tellico Plains, Tenn., brother Troy Whitford of Houston, brother John Greubel of Longs, S.C., and brothers Joe and Jeff Greubel of St. Louis.
Popular and well liked throughout his life, Todd was always heavily involved in sports, particularly softball. After high school, he served six years in the U.S. Army, stationed mostly in Korea and at Fort Detrick, Md., and was extended past his four-year enlistment by the first Gulf War. As a veteran, he will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery.
A memorial celebration will be held Friday, Oct. 5, at 6 p.m. at Pinecliff Park in Frederick. The memorial is open to friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be given to the homeless shelter of your choice or the National Council on Alcoholism.
