Doris E.K. Dobbins
Dobbins, 83, of
Jamestown, formerly of Mountville, Penn., beloved wife of the late Gordon D. Dobbins Sr., passed away Sept. 28, 2012, at home surrounded by her loving family after struggling valiantly with health complications for several months.
Born on July 27, 1929, in Salisbury, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Juanita and Allen Wright Klutz. Doris is survived by her children, Doreatha V. Jacobs of Baltimore, Md., G. David Dobbins Jr. of York, Penn., Deborah E. Dobbins and husband Thomas M. Pasquale of Jamestown, and Dean W. Dobbins and wife Terry of York, Penn.; three grandchildren, Nicole R. Criniti, Basil A. Dobbins and John F. Hughes IV; and six great-grandchildren, Cailyn, Devin and Connor Criniti, and Caden, Landon and Makenna Dobbins. She is also survived by Basil Wissner and his wife, Mary Jane of Eden Prairie, Minn.; her niece and nephews, Trisha, Robert and Michael, and their mother, Jackie Klutz. Doris was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Klutz of Baltimore, Md.
Doris was an active member of the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist in York for more than 40 years until her move to Jamestown, where she attended St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. Doris leaves her family with the knowledge that they were unconditionally loved and the comfort in knowing that she is finally reunited with the love of her life. There will be a private ceremony for immediate family at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Semper Fi Fund.
