Hot dogs served at Trat were ‘delicious’

Oct. 20 was the last intended official day for Phyllis Bedard’s restaurant, Trattoria Simpatico. The following day was a private function for the Joseph A. Sindoni Jr. 11th annual fundraiser for cancer victims, especially children. Young Joseph was lost in a car accident many years ago. Early estimates are that more than $40,000 was raised. That would have been appropriate in the article.

Why the Press instead chose to run a story about an unnamed customer who complained of hot dogs being served at the restaurant the following week is really rather absurd and beneath the Press.

Phyllis’ family of friends gathered that week to informally say thanks to Phyllis. By the way, The Tedesco hot dogs were beyond delicious. The extended Tedesco family resides on the Island and provided their renowned hot dogs to Trattoria. Young Joseph was a member of that family.

Best wishes to Phyllis on a new chapter in her life, and a tip of the old Irish hat, “Ya done good, Phyllis.”
