HMS Bounty sinks off coast of North Carolina

The tall ship HMS Bounty, which was in Narragansett Bay for the 2012 Tall Ships Festival, was lost Monday in Hurricane Sandy off Cape Hatteras, N.C. Of the 16 people reportedly aboard at the time, one individual died, one is missing and 14 were rescued. The missing person is captain Robin Walbridge, 63. Two planes joined the search Tuesday night after two Coast Guard cutters were unsuccessful locating Walbridge during the day. The Coast Guard considers the fitness of the missing person, as well as the weather conditions, in deciding how long to search.
