Tax deadline extended due to Monday’s storm
The state Division of Taxation recently announced that taxpayers affected by Hurricane Sandy will have until Wednesday, Nov. 7, to file returns and accompanying payments that would normally have been due Wednesday.
“Many taxpayers and small business,” said Tax Administrator David Sullivan, “have suffered through extended power outages, flooding and other effects of the storm. We are therefore giving these taxpayers and preparers some extra time to file the required returns and pay the required tax.”
The relief applies to businesses, taxpayers and tax preparers who were impacted by the storm regardless if they are located in Rhode or not.
