Pell Bridge Run begins in Jamestown Sunday
Runners will have the opportunity to make the trek across the Newport Bridge on Sunday, Nov. 11. The Pell Bridge Run is a fourmile race that begins at the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority headquarters at 7:30 a.m. From there, runners will take off on a short loop onto Conanicus Avenue, head onto Route 138, and then over the bridge. It’s two miles from end to end of the bridge, with a 4.8 percent grade at its highest point. By mile three, participants will have crossed the East Passage of Narragansett Bay and then enter downtown Newport via Farewell Street and America’s Cup Avenue. A celebration will be held near the finish line at Cardines Field. For more information, visit PellBridg eRun.com.
