JPD’s donation drive helps Sandy victims

Shortly following Hurricane Sandy impacting our community, the Jamestown Police Department began accepting donations from the residents of Jamestown to be provided to victims of the storm. On Monday morning, offi cers of the department delivered more than 60 large bags of assorted winter clothing, hats and blankets, along with approximately 600 pounds of food and water. On behalf of the members of the Jamestown Police Department and those residents in Rhode Island and New York who will receive the donation, I thank you for your generosity.

Edward Mello
Chief of police
