Takes many people to make an election work
I am not sure voters realize how many people are involved to make an election work. It is a tremendous team effort and I would like to acknowledge all of the behindthe scenes workers involved. They include the secretary of state’s office and the Board of Elections in Providence, who started organizing more than a year ago, the maintenance department at the Lawn Avenue School, the Parks & Recreation Department, the highway department, the GIS department, my colleagues in the town clerk’s office, the Jamestown Press and the Jamestown Record, the 22 poll workers, the local Board of Canvassers, the town sergeant, and finally the caterer who deliciously made a very long day bearable. Jamestown should be grateful and appreciative of all of them.
