Shop for gifts, visit Santa at Wakefield Mall

A new store recently opened in the Wakefield Mall, just in time for the holiday shopping season. Denali is a specialty retail store that offers clothing and footwear for the outdoorsman.

Denali features brands such as North Face, Patagonia, Under Armour, Marmot, UGG Australia, Nike and Timberland. The store also offers Keen footwear, a company founded by Jamestown resident Martin Keen in 2003.

Wakefield Mall, located on Tower Hill Road, is South County’s only enclosed mall. Along with Denali, there are more than 15 stores, including Olympia Sports, GNC, Payless Shoes, Staples, Wet Seal and FYE. There is also a McDonald’s and a Panera Bread for shoppers who work up an appetite. The mall is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This holiday season Santa Claus will once again be at the mall to take photos with children. He will be there on Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Santa’s final day at the Wakefield Mall is Christmas Eve, and he will be there from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to get last-minute wish lists from youngsters. Photos with Santa are $8 each or two for $15.

Beginning this weekend, the Wakefield Mall will also offer gift wrapping. From Saturday, Dec. 8, through Christmas Eve, volunteers will wrap all holiday gifts bought at the mall. All proceeds will go to charity. Nonprofit organizations and volunteers interested in helping can email wakefieldmall@wakefieldmall.net for more information.
