Photographs needed for Town Hall exhibit

The drop-off date for the latest Conanicut Island Art Association exhibit will be Thursday, Jan. 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Town Hall. The show – titled “Through the Looking Glass” – will be juried by Alma Davenport. All types of photographs, including alternative processes, digital prints, traditional prints and experimental work, will be welcome. Cash awards will be given to first-, second- and third-place winners.

Photographers may enter up to three works. Cost of the first entry is $10 for members, and $15 for nonmembers. Cost for additional entries is $5 each. Works submitted for the exhibit must be securely framed, wired and ready to hang. No clip-on frames, ring hooks or tooth hangers will be accepted. Work is limited to 4 feet high, 4 feet wide, and must weigh no more than 20 pounds.

Diptychs and triptychs are defi ned as connected or separated works sold as one piece. A series of works is defined as multiple works related by a single theme, but sold separately. The series must not exceed maximum measurement of 4 feet high by 5 feet of linear wall space. Works in a series will not necessarily be hung together. 3-D work must be placed in glass display cases and is limited to 1 foot wide, 16 inches tall, and 10 pounds.

Work must remain hanging through the duration of the show (April 11). The opening reception is Jan. 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Town Hall. For more information, call Karen Krider at 423-3833.
