POLICE LOG

From Dec. 24 to Dec. 31, the Jamestown Police Department responded to 332 calls for service. Of those calls for service, officers performed 182 security checks of vacant homes, businesses and public buildings.

The police also responded to 10 medical or fire calls, five animal complaints resulting in one violation being issued, five parking complaints, and seven residential or business alarms. There were 31 traffic stops resulting in four arrests and three traffic citations. Also, officers transported two prisoners to 2nd Division District Court in Newport.

Marijuana possession

George Hamamjian, 26, of Mystery Farm Road, Cranston, was charged Dec. 26 with first-offense possession of marijuana. According to police, officers discovered the marijuana following a traffic stop on Route 138. Hamamjian was taken to the police station, processed and transported to 2nd Division District Court in Newport. A court date was scheduled for Jan. 11.

License

• Brittany N. Freeman, 25, of Conanicus Avenue, Jamestown, was charged Dec. 27 with driving with a suspended license. According to police, the arrest was the result of a traffic stop on Pemberton Avenue. Freeman was taken to the police station, processed and transported to 2nd Division District Court in Newport where she was arraigned. A court date was scheduled for Jan. 11.

• Gabrielle N. Oliva, 18, of South Pier Road, Narragansett, was charged Dec. 29 for driving with an expired license. She was released with a summons. A court date was scheduled for Jan. 11.

DUI

Harvey R. Atkins Jr., 50 of Everson Drive, Glocester, was charged Dec. 29 for first-offense DUI. According to police, the arrest was the result of a traffic stop on Conanicus Avenue. Atkins was taken to the police station, processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace. A court date was scheduled for Jan. 4.
