They still got game. The Greater Shamrock Nation is a family of soccer players with a rich history hailing from Jamestown, North Kingstown and the South County area. Dead End Pub and Sons of Madelene are two teams comprised of Greater Shamrock Nation members that play in the over-40 indoor soccer league at Wide World of Indoor Sports South in Quonset. A band of soccer enthusiasts that fight for honor, work up a good sweat, and an even heftier thirst for postgame beverages.

Highlights of the season include Dead End Pub’s 5-3 upset victory over the No. 1 team in the league, Fat Belly’s, on Jan. 4. Sons teammates from Jamestown include Shew Aynalem, Bill Jennings, Jay Primiano, Fernando Pereira and Brian Cotsonas. Dead End Pub players from Jamestown include Tom Waddington, Andrew Kallfelz, Chris Cowan, Rob Lambert and Mike Schnack.
