• The North Kingstown girls’ basketball team improved to 6-3 after winning two of its three games this week. Following a 30-point blowout over Cranston West on Jan. 2, the Skippers got 14 points each from senior Marissa Carville and junior Allie Barton in their 52- 45 win over Lincoln School. North Kingstown held Lincoln School to just nine points in the first half. Center Kristjana McCarthy added 11 points in the win. The Skippers finished their week with a 54-51 loss on the road against Smithfield on Tuesday. Upcoming games: Friday, Jan. 11, 7 p.m., vs. Portsmouth; Monday, Jan. 14, 7 p.m., at South Kingstown.
• After dropping its first two games of the season, the North Kingstown boys’ ice hockey team has won its last six games, including a 5-3 victory over Toll Gate Saturday. Adam Nabb and Jason Mota each scored a pair of goals for the Skippers, and Cameron Iadealuca added a goal and assist. The Skippers are in second place in Division II-South. • The Narragansett/N.K./S.K. girls’ co-op ice hockey team is 1-3 in league play. Upcoming games: Friday, Jan. 11, 9:30 p.m. vs. Cranston co-op at Benny Magiera Ice Rink in West Warwick; Saturday, Jan. 12, 8 p.m. vs. Warwick co-op at Dennis Lynch Arena in Pawtucket.
