Newport’s Tennis Hall of Fame promotes islander


MARY HEATH MARY HEATH The International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum recently promoted Jamestown resident Mary Heath to chief marketing officer.

A career sponsorship and events professional, Heath has been the senior director of marketing for the Hall of Fame since 2008, during which time she has secured long-term partnerships with Fila, Rolex, Kia, EMC, and Alex and Ani.

Heath brings more than 30 years of experience to the new role, having previously held positions as vice president of IMG’s tennis division and as a tournament direction. For more than a decade, she was the co-owner of Rhode Islandbased Perennial Events, a event management firm.

“In recent years, she has successfully developed the Hall of Fame’s relationships with sponsors, resulting in increased awareness,” said CEO Mark Stenning. “With Mary’s great talents and expertise, and her dedication to the sport, she is the right person to lead our sales and marketing efforts as we look to grow the organization in the future.”

In her new role, Heath will be responsible for sponsorship sales. She will also continue her role as event director for the Hall of Fame’s annual gala fundraiser hosted during the U.S. Open in New York City. In addition, Heath will have oversight of all sales, marketing and public relations initiatives of the organization.

Heath is an active USTA League tennis player and platform tennis player at Conanicut Yacht Club. She is also a member of the board of directors of the Jamestown Historical Society. Heath, originally from Michigan, is a graduate of Denison University.
