POLICE LOG

From Jan. 22 to Jan. 28, the Jamestown Police Department responded to 378 calls for service. Of those calls for service, officers performed 223 security checks of vacant homes, businesses and public buildings.

The police also responded to 12 medical or fire calls, six animal complaints, eight parking complaints, and 11 alarms. Also, there were 43 traffic stops, resulting in three arrests and 12 traffic citations. Five of the tickets were issued by officers while assigned to a state enforcement program.

License

• Jessica L. Scholle, 20, of Congdon Street, Narragansett, was charged Jan. 24 with driving with an expired license following a traffi c stop on Route 138. She was issued a summons on the scene. A court date was scheduled for Feb. 8 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.

• Derek C. Ardito, 39, of Pocahontas Drive, Middletown, was charged Jan. 26 with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop on Route 138. He was transported to the police station where he was processed and released. A court date was scheduled for Feb. 8 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.

Possession of marijuana

Jose G. Sola Pleitez, 19, of Friendship Street, Newport, was charged Jan. 26 with first-offense possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Route 138. He was transported to the police station where he was processed and arraigned before a justice of the peace. A court date was scheduled for Feb. 8 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.
