JAC will screen nine short films next week

The Jamestown Arts Center will show nine selections from the 2012 Rhode Island International Film Festival on Thursday, Feb. 21, beginning at 7 p.m. Cost is $10. Featured will be “The Last Belle,” a 20-minute British animation about two characters who journey towards a blind date. The movie won the film festival’s grand prize for best animation. Also scheduled is “The Balcony Affair,” a Canadian film about two star-crossed lovers in the twilight of their lives; “First Kiss,” a four-minute short directed by Charles Hood; and “The Man will the Stolen Heart,” a sevenminute animation narrated by Bill Nighy. “Friend Request Pending,” “Lunch Date,” “Parallel,” “The Queen of my Dreams” and “Everyone Says I Love You” will also be shown.
