POLICE LOG

From Feb. 12 to Feb. 18, the Jamestown Police Department responded to 384 calls for service. Of those calls for service, officers performed 179 security checks of vacant homes and buildings.

The police also responded to 26 emergency calls, eight animal complaints, five parking complaints, and 12 alarms. There were 37 traffic stops, resulting in three arrests and 10 traffic citations. Six of the tickets were issued by officers assigned to a state enforcement program.

License

• John R. Davis, 59, of Plymouth Road, Jamestown, was charged Feb. 12 with driving with a suspended license. The arrest was the result of a traffic stop on Southwest Avenue. Davis was transported to the police station where he was processed and released. A court date was scheduled at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.

• David W. Schock, 50, of Hillcrest Road, Wakefield, was charged Feb. 18 with driving with an expired license. The arrest was the result of a traffic stop on North Road. Schock was transported to the police station and released with a traffic citation. A court date was set for March 1 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.

Warrant

Nicholas R. Titzmann, 22, of Frigate Street, Jamestown, was charged Feb. 13 with a bench warrant issued from 2nd Division District Court in Newport. The arrest was the result of a traffic stop outside of Titzmann’s home. The defendant was transported to the police station where he was processed and taken to 2nd Division District Court.
