Ector Jay Brothers
Ector Jay Brothers, 86, of Jamestown, died peacefully on Feb. 13, 2013, at Home & Hospice Care in Providence. He was born in East Brookfield, Mass., on Jan. 28, 1927, the son of Hector and Marie Brothers.
Ector (Bill) was a veteran of both the United States Army and Navy, having served nine years in military service including tours overseas and at West Point. Bill spent most of his life in Palmer, Mass., and was the owner of Palmer Drywall for more than 40 years. Bill spent his retirement in Jamestown, enjoying his favorite pastimes: fishing and clamming on Narragansett Bay.
Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lorraine Isabelle Brothers; his sons, Kevin Brothers of Exeter and Scott Brothers of Palmer; three grandchildren, James, Jay and Rufus Brothers; sisters Barbara Stred and Gloria Ahearn of Palmer; and brother Clifford of California. A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends at a future date.
