Stories wanted about riding ferry to school
Organizers of a project sponsored by the Conanicut Grange are looking for current and former Jamestown residents who attended high school in Newport prior to 1969 and had to take a ferry. The goal of the project is to record interviews from former ferry-riding students and archive the audio at the library or with the historical society. To participate, call the Jamestown Press office between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Monday or Tuesday to set up an appointment. Interviews will be conducted at the Conanicut Grange, but other accommodations can be made in lieu of heath problems.
