CIAA calls for entries to all-media exhibit
The Conanicut Island Art Association is calling for entries into its all-media open exhibit. The opening reception will be held on April 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Town Hall. Cash prizes will be given for first-, second- and third-place winners.
The drop-off date for work is April 11 at Town Hall from 1 to 4 p.m. Each artist may enter up to three works. Cost of the first entry is $10 for members, $15 for nonmembers. Additional entries are $5 each. Entrants are welcome to join the CIAA – annual membership is $30.
Works must be securely framed, wired and ready to hang. No clipon frames, ring hooks or tooth hangers will be accepted. No hanging work, including diptychs and triptychs, may exceed 4 feet either direction or weigh more than 20 pounds. Diptychs and triptychs are defined as joined or separated works sold as one piece.
Printed works should be numbered to indicate the size of the issue. Any 3-D work to be displayed in a glass case may not exceed 1 foot wide by 16 inches high, and may not weigh more than 10 pounds.
Work must remain on display through July 11. Call Karen Krider at 423-3833 for more information. Evelyn Rhodes will be the juror.
