All dog owners need their pets registered

The town clerk’s office would like to extend its thanks and gratitude to everyone who helped and volunteered at the rabies clinic on April 6.

The town registered 29 dogs during the hour. The rabies clinic would not run as smoothly as it does without the help of Kathy Barrie, the R.I. Veterinary Medical Association, Newport Animal Hospital, the Humane Society of Jamestown, and the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department. A special thank you to Will Kitts.

I would like to remind dog owners that all dogs living in Jamestown must be registered with the town. Owners have the month of April to renew their dog license as required by state law to avoid a late penalty. Please return your license renewal form and required fee to the town clerk’s office at 93 Narragansett Ave.

If you need to register a new dog, please stop by the town clerk’s office with a current and valid rabies certificate.

Heather Lopes
Assistant clerk
Jamestown
