From April 9 to April 15, the Jamestown Police Department responded to 386 calls for service. Officers performed 203 security checks of vacant homes and building.
The police also responded to 12 emergency calls, six animal complaints, three parking complaints and six alarms. There were 47 traffic stops, resulting in one juvenile being charged with possession of marijuana and 11 traffic citations. Seven of the tickets were issued by officers who were assigned to a state enforcement program.

Lisa M. Vessella, 35, of Beach Avenue, Jamestown, was charged April 8 with first-offense DUI. According to police, Vessella was pulled over after reports of an erratic driver. She was transported to the police station where she was processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace. A court date was scheduled for April 12 in 2nd Division District Court in Newport.
Jason Ryan Gordon, 33, of Summit Avenue, Jamestown, was charged April 15 with driving with an expired license. Gordon was pulled over on North Road. He was issued at citation at the scene and released. A court date was scheduled for May 3 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.
