Jean “Jeannie” E. (Burns) Kaiser
Jean “Jeannie” E. (Burns) Kaiser, 64, of Jamestown, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on April 21, 2013. Born in Newport, she was a daughter of the late Robert E. Burns and June A. (Arnold) Burns.
Jeannie was a toll collector for the R.I. Turnpike and Bridge Authority until her retirement. She graduated from Rogers High School in Newport. An avid bingo and high-low-jack player, Jeannie won many tournaments. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. She collected Elvis Presley memorabilia.
She leaves her devoted children: John R. Kaiser Jr. of Exeter, Pamela L. Fish of Newport, and Tracy L. Hesse and husband Randy of Coventry. She was the mother of the late Joseph M. Medeiros Jr., and cherished grandmother of seven grandchildren. She was the sister of Edward M. Burns of Montgomery, N.Y., Timothy Burns of Exeter, Bonnie L. Rositer of Jamestown, and the late Judith L. Robertson, Robert E. Burns Jr., Donald R. Burns, Patti A. Stern, James T. Burns and David A. Burns. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held Friday, April 26, at 2 p.m. in Central Baptist Church in Jamestown. Burial will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
