Show appreciation to Jamestown teachers

Continuing changes in education regulations, requirements and standards at the district, state and national levels have heightened the challenges facing teachers today.

The School Committee recognizes these increased demands and gratefully acknowledges the continuing commitment of our teachers to provide Jamestown students with a rigorous, stable learning environment.

The many changes and added demands have taken a toll on school climate and adult relationships, however. We appreciate Jamestown teachers’ ongoing efforts to partner with the administration and School Committee to open communication channels and model positive problem-solving behaviors for our students.

May 7 is National Teacher Appreciation Day. The Town Council has proclaimed May 6 through May 10 Teacher Appreciation Week in Jamestown. Please join the School Committee in saluting Jamestown teachers.

Few other professionals touch the lives of so many in such powerful and lasting ways.

Cathy Kaiser
Chairwoman
School Committee
