Leave canned goods by mailbox Saturday
Jamestown letter carriers will hold their annual food drive on Saturday, May 11. They are asking that residents leave a bag of nonperishable food items by their mailbox Saturday morning. Letter carriers will collect the items and deliver them to St. Mark’s Church. Last year more than 2,500 pounds of food was collected in Jamestown. Nationally, Americans donated at least 70 million pounds of food for the ninth consecutive year. Accepted items includes peanut butter, boxed goods like cereal, pasta, rice, and canned items such as soup, meat, fish, vegetable, fruits and juices.
