Proud of East Ferry improvements
Congratulations to the town of Jamestown and the Harbor Commission for a job well done. The recent improvements to East Ferry are the most significant change to our waterfront in years. Strengthening the sea wall, replacing the sidewalk and installing the sod gives our waterfront a look that we can all be proud of. Having recently returned from Florida, where the state, counties, cities and towns continually invest and improve the public’s access to the water, it is very reassuring. to see Jamestown making that same kind of commitment. Witnessing the Town Council and the Harbor Commission working together to upgrade our most vital asset improves the quality of life for all residents.
It is apparent that this Town Council is seriously committed to improving access to water. It is sincerely hoped that they in cooperation with the Harbor Commission will continue this effort and improve the parking in the area and finally repair the old dilapidated concrete ferry slip, which is not only an eye sore but also a potential liability for the Town.
