Jamestown students receive degrees

• Ian Watters of Jamestown was one of 1,146 students receiving degrees from Keene State College May 11. Watters received a bach­elor’s degree with honors.

• Benjamin D. Schmidt, son of Deken and Vicki Schmidt of Jamestown, graduated from Saint Michael’s College with a bach­elor’s degree in environmental studies at the college’s 106th com­mencement exercises held May 12 on the Vermont campus.

• Five island residents gradu­ated last weekend from the Com­munity College of Rhode Island. Jeremy Lee White graduated with highest honors; James R. Dussault and William F. Oatway received high honors. Also receiving de­grees were Ashley Marie Britton and Christopher L. Stanton.

• The Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine recently gradu­ated two Jamestown residents. Hadley Neale received a bach­elor’s degree in vessel operation and technology. Eric von Hohen­leiten received a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering technology, as well as a U.S. Coast Guard li­cense as 3rd Assistant Engineer of steam, diesel and gas turbines of any horsepower. Von Hohenleiten was also commissioned as an en­sign in the U.S. Navy Reserves.
