During the period of Monday, May 13 to Monday, May 20, the Jamestown Police Department re­sponded to 453 calls for service. Of those calls for service, officers performed 219 security checks of vacant homes, businesses and pub­lic buildings.

The police also responded to 11 medical or fire calls, 16 ani­mal complaints, five parking complaints and eight residential or business alarms. Officers con­ducted 74 traffic stops, resulting in two arrests and 13 traffic citations being issued, of which nine were issued by officers assigned to the traffic enforcement program in co­operation with RI Department of Transportation and NHTSA.

Driving under the influence

Patrick J. Walker, 25, of 81 Pot­ter Rd., North Kingstown, was charged May 17 with driving un­der the influence, with a blood al­cohol level between .10-.15 after a traffic stop on Route 138 west­bound. He was arraigned by a justice of the peace at the police station and released. He is sched­uled to appear May 24 in Newport District Court, police said, adding that the charge was a first offense for Walker.

Warrant arrest

Glenn A. Scott, 25, of 147 Sedgefield St., North Kingstown, was picked up May 20 on an out­standing warrant after a traffic stop on North Road. Police found that Scott was wanted by the South Kingstown Police Department and he was released to that depart­ment, Jamestown police said.
