Library friends hold annual membership drive

The Friends of the Jamestown Library is currently looking for members so the group can continue to bring entertainment to island residents of all ages.

In the past year, the friends have organized the summer reading program, the international film series and the all-Jamestown concert lineup. The group also sponsored art, garden and travel presentations, as well as its continuing support of teaching Jamestowners American Sign Language.

The Friends of Jamestown Library also collaborate with other island organizations such as the teen center and historical society. This year they helped with the free flu clinic and set up the Red Cross babysitting courses so local teens could earn their certification.

All programs are funded by the annual membership drive, which is currently underway. A membership brochure and application is included inside this edition of the Press. Contact Donna Fogarty at 423-7280 to learn more.
