Contributions needed for community band

“Here comes the band!” Your Jamestown Community Band is conducting one of its periodic fundraisers.

If you received the Press in the mail, please look for the enclosed self-explanatory envelope. For those who pick up their copy of the Press around town, contributions to the band can be made to the band’s address at Jamestown Community Band, P.O. Box 202, Jamestown, R.I. 02835.

On behalf of the band, thank you for all the past support and your continued support.

As the enclosure states, you will find us all over town. At the opening of the Little League season, Battery Day, the North End Fourth of July parade, the fireworks, the talent show at the rec center, family day at Fort Getty, our spring, fall, holiday and Valentine’s Day concerts, and for 20 years marching down Narragansett Avenue in the Memorial Day parade.

All contributions, small, medium and large, are equally appreciated.

In closing, once again, on behalf of the band, a very special thank you to the Portuguese American Citizens Club for year after year providing rehearsal and performance space since our inception.

Yes, we are still at the PAC Club, 138 Narragansett Ave. Rehearsals are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. The band is always looking for new members, young and old. No auditions.
