Police Log

From July 30 to Aug. 5, the Jamestown Police Department responded to 526 calls for service. Of those calls, officers performed 230 security checks of vacant homes, businesses and public buildings.

The police also responded to 21 medical or fire calls, four motorvehicle accidents, 15 animal complaints resulting in two citations, 20 parking complaints, and nine alarms. Officers conducted 107 traffic stops, resulting in three arrests and 30 traffic citations. Twenty eight of the tickets were issued by officers assigned to a state enforcement program.

License

• John R. Tregenza, 18, of Green Lane, Jamestown, was charged Aug. 3 with driving with an expired license. According to police, Tregenza was pulled over on Southwest Avenue for having no license-plate light. He was issued a citation and released at the scene. A court date was scheduled for Aug. 6 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.

• Matthew W. Supinski, 29, of Gervais Street, Coventry, was charged Aug. 5 for driving with a suspended license. According to police, Supinski was pulled over on Route 138 for having no license-plate light. He was transported to the police station where he was processed and released. A court date was scheduled for Aug. 23 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.

• Rolando Vicente, 41, of Clym Street, Providence, was charged Aug. 5 for driving with a suspended license. According to police, Vicente was pulled over on Route 138 for traveling 69 mph in a 45- mph zone. He was transported to the police station where he was processed and released. A court date was scheduled for Aug. 16 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.
