Jamestown artists will discuss craftsmanship

Three Jamestown artists will be among seven panelists who will discuss craftsmanship on Friday, Aug. 16, at the International Yacht Restoration School in Newport. Stone carver Nick Benson, sculptor Peter Diepenbrock and jeweler Didi Suydam will represent Jamestown.

The forum will be moderated by Richard Saul Wurman, an architect and graphic designer who has written more than 80 books. Photographer Clint Clemens, sculptor Howard Newman, boat builder Clark Potson and French artisan Benoit Rolland will also take part in the discussion.

The event will begin in the restoration hall at 5:30 p.m. The discussion will start at 6:15 p.m. Wine and light snacks will follow. Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased by calling Loriana De Crescenzo at 848-5777, ext. 204.
