Blues legend returns to Jamestown Sunday
Blues legend and former Jamestown resident James Montgomery will return to the island with his band on Sunday, Aug. 25, to celebrate the release of his new album, “From Detroit to the Delta.” The show will be held at the Narragansett Café from 4 to 7 p.m. The album, inspired by a trip to the Mississippi Delta with actor Morgan Freeman, features appearances by Johnny Winter, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford from Aerosmith, James Cotton, the Uptown Horns and rapper DMC from Run DMC. It has been on the charts worldwide, and ranked highly in both Australia and Belgium.
This will be a one-time-only appearance and there is no cover. Montgomery’s band features David Hull, who has played with Joe Perry and Aerosmith, George Mc- Cann, who has played with The Blues Brothers, and Seth Pappas, once with Barrence Whitfield and the Savages.
