Book club chooses September selection

September’s book selection for the library’s Tuesday discussion group will be Mary Sterns Mc- Gaughan’s “Dismissed with Prejudice: The Epic Battle Against Construction of an Oil Refinery in Jamestown, Rhode Island.” The book looks at how the town of Jamestown and the state of Rhode Island were divided by the possibility of an oil refinery being built on Conanicut Island. Copies are limited and are available at the library for in-house reading only. Judith Bell, the town’s former library director, will lead the discussion on Sept. 24. October’s book will be “The Gathering” by Anne Enright.
