Final auditions upcoming for ‘Dear Edwina’
Final auditions for the Jamestown Community Theatre’s production of “Dear Edwina” will take place on Sunday, Sept. 8, at the recreation center. Families new to Jamestown will have the opportunity to become part of the November production. There will be special dance auditions for those with experience in dance, gymnastics and similar activities. Anyone at least 7 years old is welcome to tryout for the dance numbers, even if they have already been cast in the play.
Performances are the weekends of Nov. 15 and Nov. 22. Rehearsals are Sundays from 3 to 6:30 p.m., and Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the rec center. There will be some Wednesday evening rehearsals, but they will be mostly for lead roles.
On Sept. 8, those auditioning for the first time should show up at 3 p.m. Anyone between the ages of 7 and 16 must prepare a 10- to 12- line poem or monologue. Others have no preparation. At 3:30 p.m., dance auditions will be held for those already in the cast, and for first-time candidates who have dance, gymnastics or experience in similar activities.
At 3:50 p.m., there will be a mandatory meeting for the entire cast and crew. Anyone under 18 years old must have his or her legal parent or guardian at the meeting.
Parents and guardians will find out their job descriptions and should bring a pen, paper and calendar.
From 4:15 to 6 p.m., cast and crew will read through with music. All should bring a pencil. Candidates must work or reside in Jamestown. Any questions? Email Mary Wright at email@example.com.
