Thanks to homeowners for generous hospitality
Our West Ferry house and studio weekend was a great success. It began with a wonderful preview party at Thorncroft on Friday evening. It was a very special evening where approximately 120 guests enjoyed the generous hospitality afforded to us by owners Susie Matthews and Jim Kennedy, who made us feel so welcome to enjoy their beautiful home and extraordinary grounds.
On Saturday, our tour included five very beautiful and interesting homes owned by Craig and Stephanie Amerigan, Jillian Barber, Julia Held and Randy White, Linda Nilsson, Geoff Turner and Nancy VanDevanter, three wonderful art studios owned by Jillian Barber, Peter Marcus and Jane McNally Wright, and a wonderful garden and porch that included a very special “Rear Adm. Wood’s Tea” graciously hosted by Bill and Tina Harsch. We are most grateful to these owners for allowing us the privilege of enjoying their very special properties.
I would also like to thank the house tour weekend committee: Rosemary Enright, Sue Maden, Ken Newman, Betsy Moody, Mary Heath and Dianne Rugh for their hard work in masterfully organizing these events.
To all the volunteers who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm, which resulted in such a great experience for all who attended, we extend our heartfelt thanks.
The West Ferry is a very unique and wonderful neighborhood and the Jamestown Historical Society is very appreciative to all of you who came out in support of us this past weekend.
