Art association calling for entries
The Conanicut Island Art Association is calling for entries for its upcoming Town Hall show that will open Oct. 17. Marian O’Connell, an award-winning printmaker, will be the juror. Cash prizes will be awarded. The drop-off date is Oct. 10 at Town Hall. Participants can enter up to three works of art.
Cost of the first entry is $10 for members, $15 for nonmembers. Additional entries are $5 each. Works must be securely framed, wired and ready to hang. Hanging work, including diptychs and triptychs, may not exceed 4 feet in either direction or weigh more than 20 pounds. Diptychs and triptychs are defined as joined or separated works sold as one piece.
A series of works is defined as multiple pieces related by a single theme, but sold separately. The series must not exceed 4-by-5-feet of linear wall space.
Printed works should be numbered to indicate the size of the issue. Any three-dimensional work to be displayed in a glass case may not exceed 1 foot wide by 16 inches high and may not weigh more than 10 pounds.
Photographs will be accepted only if incorporated into an original printmaking medium. Work must remain on display until Jan. 9. Call Gail Bolger at 423-1543 to learn more.
