Islanders clean up Jamestown this weekend

Jamestowners will roll up their sleeves and help clean the island on Saturday.

Several island organizations will be picking up the litter along the roads as part of the state’s Adopt-AHighway program. Those groups include the Conservation Commission, the Lions Club, the Chamber of Commerce, Consistent Care and the Cub Scouts.

At the same time, the Ocean Conservancy will host a coastal cleanup of Jamestown’s shoreline.

Volunteers are needed for the coastal litter patrol. If you would like to help out, see the story on Page 5 in this week’s Press.
