The East Bay Community Action Program, in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island, is hosting a free movie screening of the award-winning healthcare documentary, “Escape Fire: The Fight to Rescue American Healthcare.” The film explores the inherent flaws within the U.S. healthcare system and the responsibility we all have in lowering costs and making positive changes.
The screening is open to the public and will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at East Bay Family Health Care located at 6 John Chafee Boulevard in Newport. The program and registration will begin at 5 p.m.
Individuals interested in attending must RSVP online by Oct. 1 as seating is limited. Register at RI Foundation.kimbia.com/escape fire3. For more information, call Susan Schenck at 848-6697 ext. 302.
The event is part of a larger, statewide screening of the film that will occur simultaneously at three other locations across Rhode Island: The Crowne Plaza in Warwick, the Stadium Theater in Woonsocket, and the Westerly Public Library.
Following the film, Peter Andruszkiewicz, president of Blue Cross, will host a question-andanswer session at the Crowne Plaza. It will be streamed live via web cast to the other locations.
