Fran Boyer

Fran Boyer died at her home in Jamestown on Sept. 28 after a short illness with cancer. She was 84 years old. She and her husband George celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June.

Fran was a graduate of Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, and she received a master’s degree in education from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. She taught elementary school in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and New Jersey.

Her interests included Planned Parenthood, of which she was a dedicated supporter, the American Association of University Women of New Jersey, and several historical societies, including Jamestown’s. She and her husband enjoyed traveling. For many years the family vacationed in Jamestown and in June 2012 they moved there full time.

Fran was born in Wayne County, Ohio, to Leroy and Osie Feusier. She is survived by her husband George, her son Brian, his wife Gretchen, and their three children, Brendon, Reed and Diana, of Northbrook, Ill., and her son Blair, his wife Liz, and their children, Anna, Eliza and Sonia, of Chatham, N.J., and sister Paula Pollard of Friendswood, Texas.

Before her death, Fran decided to donate her body to the William Alpert Medical Center of Brown University. No services are planned at this time.
