Upcoming shows suitable for all ages

I am very excited to be directing the Jamestown Community Theatre’s fall production, “Dear Edwina.” Unknown to many, the musical embraces a cast of adults, teens and children, and should delight the same cross section of audience goers.

Audiences over the years have enthusiastically supported the theater’s productions. Therefore, in thanks for their generosity, we are giving back to the community by rolling back ticket prices to the cost of our first play more than 22 years ago, “Peter Pan.”

Adult tickets are $10, and children, teens and seniors are $5 if bought in advance. At the door, prices will go up by $2. Tickets are available in Jamestown at Baker’s Pharmacy, Conanicut Marine Ship’s Store, Secret Garden and Cathryn Jamieson Salon. In Wickford, tickets can be purchased at Midnight Sun, and in Newport at Pleasant Surprise.

I encourage all to come. The show is a family one and its appeal to all generations will make audiences laugh and feel nostalgic. Everyone will be able to identify with its characters. Most importantly, it stresses the value of each individual when Edwina vocalizes her message, “Sing your own song, use your own voice, your voice is not a thing to be denied you, and when they hear it ring true, there’s not a thing they can do, to take away the music that you’re made of.”

An important message for all of us, don’t you think?
