Results from Saturday’s youth soccer games

In Saturday’s U-12 games, both Stearns Farms Lila Delman won their games against North Kingstown teams. The games concluded the season between friendly cross-town rivals. Organizers say the North Kingstown organization helped add a great attitude to Jamestown’s recreational program.

Each year the Jamestown Soccer Association presents the Leigha Carlisle Memorial and Thomas J. Jacquard Memorial Sportsmanship Awards to one boy and one girl in the U-12 division. Winners this year were Parker DeLessio and Alexandra Sabourin in recognition for their great play, superior| effort and ability to bring a great attitude into each practice and game.

In the U-10 division, a doubleelimination tournament was held. Jamestown Hardware started off the morning by beating Payton’s Pace, 3-1, and Conanicut Marine outlasted Newport Animal Hospital by a score of 3-1. Jamestown Rotary Club played strong to make it into the 3rd round of the tournament. Two games required penalty kicks for a decision with Island Realty and Conanicut Marine advancing to the final game. Island Realty won the marathon tournament that lasted five hours for all six rounds. Outstanding players including Keely Fischer, Adam Powers, Molly Egan, Declan Rhatigan and Rene Poisson. Spectacular saves were made by goalkeepers Ben Regan and Natalie Conover.

In the U-8 division, outstanding players were Amelia Godwin and Gabrielle Poisson for Murphy’s Law; Joseph Froberg, Sam Deaton and Quinn Radonis for the Jamestown Women’s Club; Slate Evans and Eloise Collins for the Secret Garden; Sam Rudman, Quinn O’Connell and Sophia Iacovelli for Jamestown Fitness; Nicolas Gallo and Kamea Escher for Salon Balayage; and Cassidy Reynolds, Owen Yeatman and Preston Reynolds for Beacon Hill Gardening.

In the U-6 age group, outstanding players were Chace Lubchansky for the Fuzz Foundation; Ryann Petrillo and Lily Harvey for the House of Pizza; Nathan Carroll and Sam Carroll for Baker’s Pharmacy; Ben Daigneault and Talan Comeford for Slice of Heaven; Abby Ray for Central Garage; and Cameron Lanphere and Lillian Radonis for Newport Renewables.
