Shoreby Hill home sells for $2.9 million

A Colonial revival in Shoreby Hill overlooking the harbor and Narragansett Bay sold for $2,955,000, the second highest price for a residential sale in Jamestown this year. The shinglestyle home at 11 Alden Road was built in 1899 by Chapman and Wright for James Taussig, one of the founders of the Jamestown Land Company. Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty in Newport represented the seller, and Gloria Kurz of Mansions & Manors represented the buyer.
