Jewelry sale at Potter League Friday night

The Potter League for Animals will kick off its annual holiday jewelry sale with an opening reception on Friday, Dec. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. The show will feature Sequin’s costume jewelry selling at 30 to 70 percent off retail prices. Enamel bracelets, contemporary necklaces, playful pins and elegant earrings will be featured. The jewelry is typically sold in exclusive New York stores. All proceeds will benefit the Potter League.

Showroom hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Dec 15. On Wednesday, Dec. 11, the showroom will remain open two extra hours until 7 p.m. The sale is open to the public.

The Potter League for Animals is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of animals. It promotes the humane treatment of all animals and provides shelter and care for lost or unwanted animals. Located on 87 Oliphant Lane in Middletown, the shelter accepts animals from Newport County. Call 846-0592 for more information.

The Potter League is also holding a holiday manners class for dogs on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. Cost is $20. The class will cover greeting guests appropriately at the door and teaching dogs not to beg for food. Dogs should be 5 months or older, be dog friendly and know some obedience commands.
