Police Log

From Dec. 17 to Dec. 23, the Jamestown Police Department responded to 264 calls for service, resulting in 201 security checks of vacant homes, businesses and public buildings.

The police also responded to eight emergency calls, five animal complaints, three parking complaints, and nine alarms. There were 41 traffic stops, resulting in two arrests and six traffic citations. Five of the tickets were issued by officers assigned a state enforcement campaign.

Possession of alcohol

Police arrested two juveniles on Dec. 21 on Fort Getty Road following a traffic stop for speeding at 1:15 a.m. A 16-year-old boy was charged with transporting alcohol as a minor, and a 17-year-old boy was charged with possession of alcohol. Both boys have been referred to the Juvenile Hearing Board.
