Renee T. Silvester

Renee T. Silvester, 99, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., passed away on Dec. 19, 2013, at Devonshire, where she so happily resided for the past 16 years. She was born in Farrell, Penn., in 1914. Prior to that she lived, since 1956, in Palm Beach with her husband, Arthur. Mrs. Silvester graduated from college in Newton, Mass., prior to her marriage. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993 and by both her brothers and her sister.

She does leave behind her son, Arthur, and his wife Kathy, and a daughter, Diane, and her husband Brian of Jamestown. She is also survived by two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Silvester has been involved in many charitable organizations during her life including the March of Dimes, the Palm Beach Opera, Northwood University, Barry University and the Newport Music Festival. She was also involved with many other charitable organizations over the years including the Salvation Army. With her husband, she was instrumental in the development and running of the jai alai frontons in West Palm Beach, Daytona and Newport.
