Anne E. Drury (Jones)
Anne E. Drury (Jones), 80, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus, on Dec. 30, 2013, during the Nativity of the Lord. She was the beloved wife of Peter Francis Drury Jr. for 61 years.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (McIntyre) Jones. Anne attended St. Catherine’s Academy before spending the next 27 years traveling the world at her husband’s side while in the U.S. Army. While stationed at Ft. Dix, N.J., Anne ran a summer camp for special-needs children. With her own grandchildren, she never tired from endless games, reading, trips to the beach, walks and crafts. She attended nearly every sporting and musical event involving her grandchildren. She was a very special nana to each one of them. Anne was an avid Red Sox fan, like everyone else in her family.
She was a communicant of St. Mark Church and an active and joyful member of St. Mark’s women’s club. Anne was a loving and faith-filled wife, mother, nana, and friend to many.
Besides her husband, she leaves four children, Kathleen Anne Tiexiera of Jamestown, Patricia Margaret Duncan of Topeka, Kans., Eileen Theresa Tiexiera and her husband Steven of Jamestown and Michael Patrick Drury of Jamestown; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer, Phillip, Beth, Mark, Emily, Molly, Dennis, Amy, Alissa, Rebekah, Kyle and Christian; five great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. She leaves two sisters, Judy Albaugh and Peggy Rice of Jamestown, a brother Paul Jones of Jamestown and a brother Frank Jones of Oregon. She is pre-deceased by her sister Pat Sherman.
