Resident certified by clerk institute

Jamestown resident Heather Lopes on Dec. 10 was named a certified municipal clerk by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. The designation is only given to municipal clerks who complete the educational requirements and have a record of significant contributions to their local government and community. Lopes is an assistant probate clerk in Jamestown.

Islanders named to dean’s list, honor roll

• Seven residents were named to the fall 2013 dean’s list at the Community College of Rhode Island, including Laura Ferrick, Ryan Healey, Kevin Lanphere, Nicholas Lutes, James Mastrostefano, Jacqueline Tanguay and Sarah Thomas. Students must have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher to be recognized.

• Caroline Dunn-Packer was named to the high honor roll for the fall term at Pomfret School. To earn high honors, students must have a grade point average of at least 3.5. Dunn-Packer is a member of the class of 2016. Pomfret is a collegeprep boarding school in Connecticut for high-school students.
