Vincent J. Vessella
Vessella, 67, of Jamestown, passed away Jan. 19, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Joan M. (Flodin) Vessella for 40 years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Peter and Marie (Desroches) Vessella.
Mr. Vessella was a toolmaker before becoming a self-employed contractor. He was the owner of VJ Vessella Building Improvements.
He was a volunteer firefighter serving as a lieutenant with the Jamestown Fire Department, and was an EMT serving with Jamestown EMS for 36 years.
He also worked for Yawgoo Valley Ski Patrol and was a member of the National Ski Patrol.
Mr. Vessella enjoyed outdoor sports and woodworking.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Lisa M. Vessella of Cranston and Tara L. Vessella of Lyons, Colo.; and a brother, Richard Vessella.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m. in the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. Burial will be in St. Mark Cemetery in Jamestown. Visiting hours are Friday, Jan. 24, from 5 to 8 p.m.
